Jesus Gave Amazing Answers
Jesus was a master at staying "on message". He was not intimidated or sidetracked by the "gotcha" questions of His enemies. He spoke with wisdom, clarity, integrity, strength, and conviction. But He also gave the right kind of answer that each situation needed. He was never at a loss for words but also never said more than needed to be said in any conversation.
I want to have such good control of my tongue like Jesus did. I need to know what needs to be said to whom and at what time, in what way, in what location, with what words. A gentle answer turns away wrath but a harsh word stirs up dissension. A kind word aptly spoken is like a golden apple in settings of silver.
God, I often get myself in trouble by saying the wrong thing in the wrong way at the wrong time. Help me to be more wise and to know how to use my words in only helpful ways.
