It's All About Jesus
We all receive the Holy Spirit when we surrender our lives and lay them down as in the grave and accept from Jesus the new life that He offers. And with that gift of the Spirit comes power--but not just power for power's sake. It's for a specific purpose, a specific mission, a specific task. It is the task of telling people about Jesus. If we are not doing this, then we are not going to experience the unleashing of God's power in and through us. We are called to tell people about Jesus.
I so often forget, in the course of my ministry teaching, to point everything back to Jesus. Most of the students who come to our church are not walking closely with Jesus. They need His power in their lives. They need to hear about Jesus from me, experience His power, and then give Him their life.
God, I let so many things distract me from making the preaching of Jesus my primary concern. Help me!
