Invite God to Test Your Heart
Even the Psalmist, who wrote dozens of songs of praise and prayer to the LORD, knew that he was not above or beyond speaking out of turn or having thoughts and attitudes that are out of line with the Spirit of God. We are all fallible and need to plead with God to keep our motives and ideas pure.
I have LOTS of ideas about how I think things should be and what God might want me to be doing. I need to remember to always put my thoughts and plans before God, to invite Him to scrutinize and scrub them, and to help me be fully connected with His heart and will.
God, I want the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart to be pleasing in Your sight. Please test me and if there is anything in me that is not of You, take it away. I want to only be about Your business. I know that anything else is a waste of the life You gave me.
