Freedom Contrasted with Law

Talk about gutsy! Paul is in a synagogue full of Jews and he proceeds quickly to identifying Jesus as the promised Messiah and fulfillment of all the prophecies of the Scriptures. He draws a stark distinction between the Jewish Law, and its inability to free from guilt and set people right with God, and believing in Jesus, who offers complete forgiveness of all sins.

It sounds like a pretty clear and easy choice to me! I'll take a full-sized serving of forgiveness, freedom from guilt, and favor with God, please! :D Sometimes, just coming right out with the stark contrast between life in Jesus and any other kind of life is what people need in order to choose Jesus.

God, You are so Great and merciful and full of love. Help me to be able to express clearly who You are by clearly teaching people about Your Son.

In Jesus' Name, Amen!
