A life founded on love

Here Paul is speaking to his readers about living a life that is pure and blameless... We have all heard that before... We should live a good life for Jesus but what we often miss is what motivates and is the source of such a life... Paul doesn't say, may you understand the Law better.... Or may you know the rules of life.... Or may guilt and condemnation keep you on the straight and narrow... no! So what does he say??
"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that..." The guidelines we live by is the law of LOVE! How amazing... He goes on in Romans and says love fulfills the law. If we can get a revelation of LOVE, we will have a revelation of God & people. God is love and God loves people... Our Pastor, Brian Houston, has been saying recently, "We are all about loving God, Who is all about loving people. We aim to see what God sees, and God sees people." May we grow more and more in love with God and as that happens may our actions and lives start to reflect this love in service of God & people. Our love is not self-stipulated but is a mere response & imitation of His love.
