Law vs Love

I agree 100% with Cindy, God isn't about the rules, he is about the heart.
In Sunday School yesterday we are doing a study by Andy Stanley (Faith Hope and Luck) We discussed "circumstantial faith" and how fragile that kind of faith is, how our true faith should be in Jesus Christ, not our circumstances at any given time. Someone in the class shared about a friend who grew up overseas in a rather restricted, law based culture. Her faith/religious beliefs mirrored her up bringing. When her friend came to live in the US and begin to see Christianity from a different view (Love not Law) she commented that "In my country I learned to Fear God, now here, I am learning to Love God. Rick reinforced that yesterday in the story of the orator and the 23rd Psalm. When we try to play by the rules, we will always loose, you just can't keep or even depend on the rules. They are either too hard, too lenient or the rules even change; When you base your faith on the Love of Jesus Christ, you can prop yourself against that Love knowing it will never fail, but will even grow deeper and more substantial.
