38 Joseph from Arimathea was one of Jesus’ disciples. He had kept it secret though, because he was afraid of the Jewish leaders. But now he asked Pilate to let him have Jesus’ body. Pilate gave him permission, and Joseph took it down from the cross.
39 Nicodemus also came with about seventy-five pounds of spices made from myrrh and aloes. This was the same Nicodemus who had visited Jesus one night.
Here's the reality... sooner or later... people will know that you follow Jesus. It is what it is. Love for Jesus will cast out the fear of man. Joseph learned it, and Nicodemus learned it. It's kind of hard to hide how you feel about someone when you ask to bury Him, and when you carry 75 lbs. of spices to bury Him. Faith and trust will be revealed sooner or later.
So... may our faith in Jesus be revealed sooner than later. And may Jesus' love for us cast out any of our fears of man.
