Obedience : part of your Christian life?
13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ
I read the above verse tonight and you have to ask yourself the question : When was the last time you have been obedient in your faith?
I Looked in the dictionaries for the meaning of obedience and I found the following :
1st : Obedience is essential in any army
Are we part of God's army? Who is our commanding officer?
Answer : The Spirit of Truth, we need to be attentive to His voice. Our spiritual ears need to be open 24 hours non stop if we are to function in this new life of our's.
2 nd : the act of obeying; dutiful or submissive behavior with respect to another person
the trait of being willing to obey
Have we grown so accustomed to our free life that we only listen to ourselves and our needs. Do our needs speak louder than what God is commanding us?
3rd Obedience, in human behavior, , which describes the act of carrying out commands, or being actuated.
Obedience means ACTION. Not just listening to the commands but actually going and carrying them out.
4th Obedience happens intentionally
You are not going to wake up one morning and find yourself obedient. It starts with decisions, a mental decision to walk a different path.
5th Living an obedient life to Christ is goign to get you in trouble. You will not confrom to the life of normal Christians. They will look upon you as weird and maybe say..."you have gone too far" There is a price tag on obedience? Your life....is it it worth it...you need to decide,,,,
