A Call to Rebuild
The people of Judah have been in captivity for so long that they have become comfortable in their new lifestyle and have forgotten about God's promises. They are content living in bondage. At the beginning of Ezra, they are being called to rebuild the house of the Lord, to return to who they were. Sadly, still today we are content with living in bondage brought on by sin. I think the call to rebuild that is issued here in Ezra 1:3 is still applicable today. Issue a call to restore our hearts, to rebuild His Church.
