The benefits package of the church
When you look for the perfect job you want to know the benefits package. Stuff like 5 weeks paid vacation, full health insurance, company car, great retirement, day care for kids, health spa membership, plush expense account....sound like a sweet benefits package. The church has an even better package. Jesus has all authority over every power, principality, and system of the world for the benefit of the church. He provides the church the power of the resurrection. Best of all He has chosen us as His beloved and infuse us with the light of faith, hope, and love so that we may overcome all things as he did and spend the magnitude of eternity set apart for His joy and pleasure, and all the enduring extravagant pleasure and joy that represents. Why does the church settle for a lesser package? We settle for anxiety, lust, anger, conformity to the transient pleasures of this world in the pursuit of happiness, wealth and pleasure. I want the better package ...the power, the hope, the joy in the authority of the resurrected Christ.
