God knows best
I love how God works (at least I can say that when reading Scripture). He never does things the way we think they should be done. All through Scripture we see God doing things that don't make sense to us particularly when it comes to his dealing with us humans. That's the great thing though. God shows us who is in control by doing things that don't confirm to our understanding. He took a young girl betrothed to a man and impregnated her. Talk about social stigma! Yet through this act he brought about the birth of Jesus. The savior of the world entered the world in the most unlikely circumstance.
We don't have to know how God works to know that he is at work in every circumstance. We just have to trust that he knows what is best. This is called faith. Joseph exhibited a great deal of faith when he took Mary as his wife even though she became pregnant before they were completely married. He would later show faith again when he did as God commanded and fled to Egypt. God knows how to work with the seemingly impossible and brings good out of it.
So when God commands us to do or says don't we may not completely understand why, but we can have faith in Him who sees all things. There is a reason for everything God says. It is a matter of trust.
