ch5 Verse 40: The council accepted his advice, They called in the apostles and had them flogged. Then they ordered them never again to speak in the name of Jesus, and they let them go. The apostles left the high council rejoicing that God had counted them worthy to suffer dishonor in the name of Jesus. And every day, in the temple and in their homes, they continued to teach and preach this message: "The Messiah you are looking for is Jesus"
In the beginning of Acts all of the apostles of Jesus are filled with the holy spirit and it just now occurred to me what happened to these men. They then went out and preached to many, they healed the lame, and they just shook the world in which they lived. These men were not fit to lead but they allowed the holy spirit to transform their lives. Anyone of us could do the same thing that these men did. We just need to allow God to work in our lives.
