Vegetarian

Although I may have a rather radical point of view, I was raised in a very health conscious home where we tried to seek God's opinion on how even our diet should be. But most people like to say that we are allowed to consume meat, even pork, now that Jesus died for us. And this is true, God will not punish us for no matter what we do as believers, Christ's blood will cover us. But when we consult the Old Testament and the laws that God gave his people, there is no doubt that His desire was for His people to refrain from eating the "unclean" foods. Now, I've talked to many a pastor--some who say that the whole rules and regulations on meat eating were for ceremonial purposes only and others who believe that it is a law that remains congruent even today. For me, I am no expert and cannot say what is on God's mind. However, I would think that my God who knows every moment when I sit and when I rise and even the number of hairs I have on my head would not give me a book of laws and rules just to test my obedience. There is a reason He ordained such restrictive rules for His people and if I have learned one thing about God, it's that He does everything out of His eternal love for me and my happiness.

In short, after all that rambling, I think it would be wise to take into advisement the diet prescribed in the Old Testament whether or not it is a binding law.

I mean, the KJV which is supposed to be the most original in its wording says that the fruits and vegetables of the earth were to be humans "meat" at the end of Genesis 1:29. Doesn't that mean something?

If there are any who are at all curious I would encourage you to check out the Creation Museum in Kentucky. I'm not sure the website info but Ken Hamm does a much better job at explaining this than me.
