A small amount of faith.
As i continue through the book of Matthew it becomes evident to me that the whole premise of being a good christian is having just a little bit of faith. Jesus went around from area to area healing people of leprosy, demonic sprits, sickness etc... What this tells me is that the Jesus of that time is still very much the Jesus of this time in terms of healing. We as humans will get sick in this lifetime, some more than others. The key is having the faith to command your own healing. Jesus did it back then and he certainly can do it today. So don't curse God because you become sick, pray about it and have the faith to say "God heal me of this sickness". God is not a liar and if you believe what the bible says, you will be healed. Now, it may not be when you think it should happen, but it will happen on time..... His timeline is nothing like ours. As the chapter goes on the disciples are on a boat with Jesus while he was sleeping. A storm came to pass and the disciples got scared and thought that they would die or the boat would be destroyed????!!! I for one cannot believe this... Imagine having Jesus sitting or sleeping right there with you, and you somehow lack faith??!!! The lesson here is we MUST renew our faith on a daily basis, because that is what its all about... The faithful will inherit the kingdom of God.
