We see Joseph not being able to contain himself any longer when with his brothers. He finally decides to reveal himself to them as his long lost brother that they thought to be dead, more than likely.
What's important to note is what Joseph says, starting in verse 5. In essence, the brothers selling Joseph into slavery was God's plan. God used the brothers to preserve life. Something that R. C. Sproul once said has stuck with me. He said, "God uses our bad will to accomplish His good will." I cannot forget that. No matter my sin, how great or how small, somehow, God can and will use it for His purpose. This was the same way with Joseph's brothers. These are the chosen people of God, the 12 tribes, if you will.
Another interesting aspect of all this is that when Pharaoh heard of these brothers, he offered them the best of the land when they moved to Egypt. Everything was being provided for them. There were to be 5 more cycles of famine. This should be noted as important, because 400 years later, another Pharaoh would not know who Joseph was and the Israelites would be put to slave labor. Yet, because of the provisions during Joseph's time, they would have all they would need when they would leave the land to go back to Canaan. God gave them exactly what they needed for the 400 years they would be in Egypt.
In our own lives, God gives us exactly what we need. Sometimes, it may not be fancy. It may not be the best vehicle, or the largest house, or whatever, but it should be exactly what we need. Let's not forget that. If you're struggling with what you have, just realize that God has provided what you need for that moment. This should be a comforting thought, not a distressing one. He is our provider. He showed that to Joseph and his family and Joseph recognized that it was not his brothers, but God who provided.
