clean and steadfast
The pain and the guilt that must have poured over the soul of David as he realize his sin but more devastating is that God saw it all. The God who moved him from the fields tending sheep to the throne of all Israel now was an after thought to David. His sin so dark that God had to send a prophet to expose the darkness. David now in awareness of a heart/ life gone astray runs to the arms of God? How does this man know God so well. How did he know himself so well. The only place to turn when life doesn't make sense is the arms of the Almighty. Yielded to His power/ discipline was necessary to get right. There he calls for God to clean his heart and give him a steadfast spirit. A spirit that is firm once again. A spirit that is restored. A spirit that is rightly connected to Truth. God I need a clean heart and a steadfast spirit. The world and sin has taken a toll upon me. Find me when I feel I can't find myself. Bring clarity where the cloud of confusion rages. Bring joy to the weariness. Bring Jesus. Bring Him in all His glory to lift this man and restore his soul.
