This is the day that the Lord has made

As much as I hate getting up so early in the morning, I love my early morning walks. At 6am there are not too many people out and about. The air is fresh and crisp, the sun is beautifuly rising in the east and the paleness of the moon is setting in the west. Without many distractions, it's one of the only times I can keep my mind clear and relaxed enough to really communicate with the one who made me. Each day is a brand new day made for us by the Lord. Isn't it great to see it as a gift given to us rather than a curse filled with deadlines and meetings and exhaustion from running around? It's a new day with a new start! He is merciful enough to allow every 24 hours to bring something new for us. He allows us to start over. He chooses to take our hands and lift us out of bed. He chooses to walk, or run, beside us all day long. He chooses to gently lay us down and kiss our foreheads goodnight. And while we sleep, he is busy creating the gift of a brand new day for us! We are blessed. Not just with the material blessings, but blessed because we have a creator who gives us something new every morning. So this is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it because his mercy (love) endures forever.
