Church Division
Korah started his rebellion with a few other people. The Bible says that "Rebellion seeks out rebellion." Certainly they must have realized that they antagonism wasn't going to get far without some help so, he took prominent leaders from among the assembly and built his rebellion.
He literally turned the hearts of the leaders of the assembly against Moses, this didn't happen by happen-chance, he purposely took those leaders from a place of submission under authority and turned their hearts against Moses, he incited the leaders.
How many times have we all watched this happen in churches? An antagonist will become angry and stir their rebellion with questions of authority. It starts with a handful and moves into the board room, or the Elders, or deacons, or (frequently) among the worship team.
Where did this rebellion start? Within the Levite community, the people appointed to care for the temple!
Church leaders: if someone comes to you with frustration and seems to be inciting rebellion, do not react rashly! Don't allow your emotions to rule your decisions. Communicate openly concerning this person with the entire leadership team at one time - no secret meetings, or separate sessions. Cut that thing off at the root by refusing to allow it to fester among the appointed leaders of the fellowship or in your heart.
