Even in Fear, I am with you!

I am trying to put myself in the shoes of those that went to find Jesus in the tomb. I can imagine the great sadness that they felt, and the shock to see his body missing, and the anger when they think that his body was stolen. But I can not imagine as the scriptures say, "the fear and excitement" they felt as the Angel of the Lord appears to them. He tells them that Jesus has risen, like he said he would.

First of all, these were women. In that day, their word was not always taken at face value. Meaning that the men would probably not believe them. I think that this is no coincidence that the women were used in this way.

Jump down to the end of the chapter. Jesus instructs us to go and to make disciples and to baptize them. He also reassures us that He will always be with us - to the very end. I think that this is also significant.

I think that the main thought is this : CONTINUE DOING HIS WORK ALWAYS!
Yes, there will be times when we are lost, scared, and alone - or so we feel. But persevere - take heart, do not faint, or grow weary. Jesus, the son of God has given us direct access to the Father - he has left the Holy Spirit to be our guide, our friend and counselor. DO NOT BE AFRAID. Press forward. Trust Him. For even in fear, He is with us.
