We Need Each Other
First I want to say that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because people everywhere in the world are talking about your faith.9 God, whom I serve with my whole heart by telling the Good News about his Son, knows that I always mention you10 every time I pray. I pray that I will be allowed to come to you, and this will happen if God wants it.11 I want very much to see you, to give you some spiritual gift to make you strong.
12 I mean that I want us to help each other with the faith we have. Your faith will help me, and my faith will help you
The words of Paul here are so precious and intimate. Here is a giant of the faith, edifying the believers in Rome who are like his spiritual children. He has every right to teach them and have them learn from him. But in humility, because Christ is Lord, he also learns from them! It is just another example of the importance of "one-anotherness." We need each other, and God has marked that "good."
Thank You, Lord, for my friends and spiritual family, for Your good plan for us to help eachother with the faith that we have. I pray that You would stir that faith up in my heart. Use me to help others, and please use those around me to help me. Our goal and desire is to be close to You. Thank You for Your love for us, Lord, in that You allow us into You. I love You. Amen
