setting aside
21 I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” Galatians 2:21 TNIV
Everything we have in Christ today points to the grace that God has on our lives. Paul is reminding the church a Galatia (and us today) that the law was put in place to illustrate what it would be like if we could be righteous before God on our own. It never happened as we read and never will happen as we know. It is for that reason no believer can ever set aside the fact that God in His grace views us as righteous through Jesus Christ.
This scripture helps reminds me today why God’s grace is so important in my life and that I can do nothing to earn it. I must cherish and be grateful daily that God in his mercy has had grace on me and the rest of the world to be made righteous through Jesus Christ as a free gift should we accept it.
Thank you Lord that you alone can grant me the grace that I don’t deserve but that makes me righteous before you.
