"Abide in Me." -Jesus

King Solomon suffered the consequences of living life far away from the Lord. I ponder on this book timely, because it is a man who pursued earthly things (under the sun) in very extreme ways. To my recollection, he pursued laughter, pleasure, eatery, knowledge, and having a life as such away from the Lord, the whole experience came down to vanity.
In the senior years, that's when things become relevant when you lived life (with these things) with the Lord. The danger is always to be in pleasure and have no pleasure to pursuing things of the Lord. "Remember thy Creater in the days of your youth", because meaning in life is being one with the Lord.
Previous stories of King Solomon, his walk was endangered when he got affiliated with foreign women. The Bible emphasizes that he worshipped other gods of the women. Perhaps the gifts that were given to him (from the women) conditioned his heart.
But let's not wait till old age when we say "I have no more pleasure with the Lord."
