Your word is YOUR word!
"Whatever your lips utter you must be sure to do, because you made your vow freely to the Lord your God with your own mouth."
How many times have we cried out to God...saying "Lord, if you will just.....then I will....?! Promises these days are easily broken & forgotten, then from those in the days past. While we were under the law, breaking a promise or failing to keep a covenant, meant for some pretty harsh consequences.
I will be sure to not take these words so lightly, I will be sure to uphold all that I promise and will do whatever it is my lips utter...
Lord, as I read your divine word, please burn these scriptures into my heart so that I may never forget them. Help me, Lord....to always stand by my word. Do not let me become complacent and my words become meaningless. Help me Lord to live my life with integrity and help me to teach this principle to those you have entrusted to me.
