Preparedness and Future Planning

This story that Jesus is telling is incredibly relative to us even now.

Some of us live prepared for Christ's return. We future plan our steps - intentionally - to walk toward Christ every single day. We plan how we want to grow closer to Him over the year and actively take steps in that direction.

Some of us live unprepared for Christ's return. We easily get distracted and fall into the, "I'll do in the the future" or "I don't have time right now" mindset. We unintentionally walk away from Christ every single day. We don't plan how we can grow closer to Him over the year and therefore passively take steps in that direction - away from Him.

Where do you fall in these two categories? Prepared or unprepared? Planning or unplanned? Active or inactive, passive? Ready, or distracted?

It seems to me that the unprepared virgins in this story didn't get invited to the dinner with the bridegroom, while the prepared virgins did.

We can be scared by this or inspired. I hope this story inspires you to constantly seek to grow closer to Christ every day, through His grace. The virgins that were unprepared didn't have enough oil to keep their lamps lighted - I pray we seek God and knowHim so that our hearts are preparedand ready for Him to invite us into the feast!

Again, don't be discouraged if yours isn't right now, but turn from your sins and be inspired to live for the King, ready for His glorious return!

Jesus is Lord!
