a loud voice
16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. 17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. Galatians 5:16-17 TNIV
When we initially invited Christ in to our hearts to give us new life it was by His Spirit that this happened. It was at that time God’s Holy Spirit cam to dwell in us to be our comforter and our guide. Everything we had learned about life up until that point now has a new filter to go through since God now lives within our hearts. How we act respond and deal with situations has a new lens. This is why Paul says that what we want in contrary to what God wants for us. The Spirit of God is we allow convicts us so that as the scripture says ...so you are not to do whatever you want.
I need to allow the Spirit of God’s voice to be louder than that of my own desires. I need his voice to convict me in a way that keeps me from doing whatever I want.
God may your voice be loud in my life today and may I listen and obey!
