March 15, 2010: Ok so in the beginning of Chapter 12 God makes this awesome promise to Abram and he begins to follow God’s instructions, but something curious happens. By the middle of the chapter Abram gets scared and he does something that A LOT of us Christians do… He tried to help God. Isn’t that funny, how we lean on our own understanding and in our pride, arrogance, rebellion or sometimes just plain fear, we have the nerve to think that God needs OUR HELP?!?!? I know that I’m guilty of that. Lord please forgive my ignorance and pride. Help me to realize how truly weak I am, so then I will have no choice but to depend wholly on You.
