6 Therefore understand that the Lord your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stiff-necked people.

Let's get things straight, you aren't going to possess the land because you have been so incredibly faithful, or have lived righteous before the Lord - oh no, rather, you are going to possess the land because they are so wicked (verse 5). But, let's not lose sight of the fact that you are a stiff - necked people.

This scripture just JUMPED at me; God allows even the stiff-necked people to continue forward because in the end, His name is glorified.
