@blake_levrets: Nope, Can't Do It
Ever feel inadequate ? Like you’re in over your head, not because you’ve screwed up or anything like that, but just because of who you are. Imagine if you got invited to go meet {insert name of hero here}. You’d be excited at first and then the realization of the fact that you’re going to have to talk to this person sinks in! Or a situation arises, again not because of sin or anything, that is way too big for you to handle. Have you ever been there? Where you’re staring up a mountain of a task and you know that there is no possible way that you can scale this bad boy.
I’m sure you have! I know I’m not the only freak out there. Inadequacy isn’t something that feels good. You get that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach going into a conversation or situation. I’ve been there, you’ve been there. You’ve thought it through and thought it through and no matter any way you slice it, it doesn’t seem like it will end well.
Today I was encouraged by 1 Corinthians 1:25 – For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength. You know why I was encouraged by this? There will always be someone wiser and there will always be someone stronger. You can really say this verse like: God’s foolishness is wiser than ALL the wisdom of ALL men/God’s strength is stronger than ALL of the strength of ALL men.
This encouraged me because I know I can tap into that wisdom and that strength any time I ask. He know what’s going to take place and he’s given me, and continues to give me the strength and wisdom for every situation. I just need to ask and not doubt. If God puts me in a situation or in a conversation he’ll give me the strength to climb and the wisdom to speak.
What conversations have you been putting off because you don’t think you have the wisdom? What situation have you been avoiding because you don’t think you have the strength? Press into them today, but before you do ask God to be your wisdom and strength. Basic but it got me today!
