Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.

It is a good thing when we face difficulty and challenge this side of eternity. Anything that brings us to our knees really is a blessing. Going through the fire is always painful and never easy, but the blessing is that when we have gone through the fire we will know if there is any substance to the way we have lived our lives. The fire is the testing and refining agent that helps us refine the character and substance of who we are.

Those that move through life with a limp, are those that have passed through the fire. Brokeness is a sign of someone that has been tested and has moved forward. There is no room for pride in the fire - no room for ego - it all gets burned up, and what remains is a pliable, usable me, that knows the love of the Father and has felt the heat.

To move forward - I must be approved by fire.
