Why so repetitive??
After reading Leviticus 8 today, I felt as if I had read this before. So I went back and sure enough I came across Exodus 30. Those two chapters are IDENTICAL! At first I was like, "Oh boy, here we go. I've already read this" but then it hit me; why was it so important for this to be written twice? You see, in Exodus 30 these were God's instructions to Moses on how to dress and consecrate the High Priests and his sons. Everything is detailed to the T. In Leviticus 8 God only speaks in the first 3 versus, yet the rest of the chapter is exactly the same as Ex. 30. God, through Moses, is trying to show us that when HE gives us instructions we need to follow them EXACTLY how he gave them to us. We tend to give our own interpretation, or our own spin on what God REALLY meant. When He simply wants us to follow His Will EXPLICITLY. So, why so repetitive? Because sometimes we need to be told more than once, so we'll get the point.
