So, you haven't heard
I'm not quite sure why this verse stood out to me, but here it goes. It didn't give any indication that these particular workers didn't want to work, only that they had not been hired by anyone. What if being hired meant that they heard the Word of God and became His servants working for Him until eternal life after they die. I can see that someone who has been working all day or has served God for a long time might feel a bit slighted that someone who's lived a life of sin comes in right at the end and gets all the same benefits of eternal life. Could it be though that they never heard the Gospel? Working at the pregnancy center, I am fully aware that not everyone has heard the Message of Jesus Christ. And this is the Bible belt for goodness sake! That's here in the US, what about those in remote places or 3rd world countries? Perhaps, they haven't heard.
