A Heart of Wisdom
11 Who knows the power of your anger?
For your wrath is as great as the fear that is due you.
12 Teach us to number our days aright,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
I'm not sure what the author of this Psalm had on his heart when writing this passage, but it spoke to me as I read this today on my birthday. It's my 30th (shudder), and I am saddened by the fact that I feel I don't yet have "it" right. This Psalm says don't waste time engaging in a life that angers God, but learn to live a life that is pleasing to Him ("gain a heart of wisdom.") My prayer today is that God instills wisdom in my heart so that I do not waste time living in a fashion that does nothing to further His kingdom.
