Is It Right that Job gives God the Credit for His Loss?

"the Lord gives and the Lord takes away".

I hear this passage quoted by Believers all the time. They are not quoting God, nor are they quoting Jesus. They are quoting Job.

This was Job's lament. This was his perspective.

Though God did allow this, who was actually empowered to have rule and authority in the matter? Satan himself.

I'm not sure that Job's lament and declaration is an accurate one. Was it not Satan that "took away" in this case?

Yet, "the Lord takes away" is quoted non-stop as a way to explain loss in the life of a Believer. (I'm not suggesting Believers won't experience loss, btw!).
