The battle of the mind
Isaiah 26:3; Matthew 22:37; Romans 12:2; Philippians 2:5 are all verses that deal with the mind. They tell you to renew your mind and take on the mindset of Christ. The question then becomes, how do you take on the mind of Christ?
Often times we are our own worst enemy. We can be our own biggest supporters but we more often than not become our own worst enemies. We lie to ourselves, distract ourselves, discourage ourselves and keep ourselves from achieving our goals. It's a shame.
As a Christian we must learn how to keep our minds on Christ. If we would just pray instead of complain; praise instead of pout; worship instead of gossip we would be so much better at this thing called life. You have to start living life instead of just surviving it.
Renewing your mind means you need to change how you think. You've got to change how you feel and everything else in your life will begin to fall into place. Everything begins with the head. The anointing flows from the head; the head houses the brain that controls the body and Christ is the head of the church. Your issue is, you better learn how to be the shoulders! And if you're the shoulders, you can't help but look up to the head! So gone 'head and look to the hills from which cometh your help because it all comes from the HEAD aka the Lord.
When you find yourself battling for your thoughts to become positive or to overcome your bad thinking; you've got to start looking at yourself the way God sees you. Contrary to what you may believe, God loves you unconditionally. You must learn how to love yourself that very same way. You have to learn how to help yourself! You've got to be your biggest cheerleader.
You must stop beating up on yourself. You can't keep looking at yourself in disgust. You were made in HIS image and in HIS likeness according to Genesis 1:26. So anytime you look down at yourself and dislike who you are, you are looking down at God! And who are you to look down on the master? He lives inside of you and that means it doesn't matter if you look like Halle Barry or Precious; doesn't matter if you're too tall, too short, too fat, too small--God loves you! He cares! You wouldn't be here if it wasn't for a purpose. That's why the theory of evolution is flawed because it says that we are here by happen-stance and came from monkeys. I may know a few monkey-like creatures (LOL) but I'm a spitting image of my daddy and I'm not talking about D. Campbell here on earth! If I came from an animal and evolved into who I am now, I wouldn't be with purpose. I'm FULL of purpose! FULL of destiny and I won't let my mind trick me out of it!
When the enemy attacks you he attacks in 3 favorite places. Your heart (with bad relationships and "friendships"); your soul (with bad doctrine, hurt from church and false teachings); and your MIND (with thoughts that you're not good enough; you're not smart enough; you're too fat)!!! When he gets your mind, he can then control your thoughts, which in turn control your body. You begin to act like you think. It shows up in your bad decisions, bad relationship choices and bad people you chose to be around.
The good thing is you can put on the whole armor of God. Put that helmet of salvation on by renewing your mind and taking on the mind of Christ and your battle will become a victory over the enemy! Your battle ground will become the breaking ground of the the new you! You better break ground on project-you and build yourself up to be the real man/woman of God that he has called you to be!
