Do I look like "I know God"?
John says the way we can be sure we know him is if we obey his commandments. Wow, conviction alert! Those that obey God's word truly show how much they love God. How much am I showing God that I love him in the everyday? I say that "I know God" but can anyone tell by the way I live? Am I living as Jesus did?
Yesterday, in the office, I wasn't showing many people that "I know God" by how I was living. I was complaining and grumbling about work and work politics, but don't I know the verse and have it posted at my office, Philippians 2:14-15, "Do everything without complaining and grumbling", well yesterday office politics fell outside of the everything that Paul talked about in God's word. That is a shame and I am ashamed that by looking at me and the way I spoke yesterday, no one would know that I believe what I say I believe. If I say "I know God", its about time I act like it, in the world and behind closed doors as well.
Lord, please forgive me of how utterly short I fall from your word. Forgive me for not being salt and light. Please help me to start anew today. Help me to show my love for you through my speech, thoughts and actions. I am so sorry God. Please help me to live more like your son and less like my selfish self. I want to live in the truth with you Lord. I love you Daddy, In Jesus name, Amen.
