The Ultimate WMD... My Mouth!

Lord knows I am a 'work in progress' on the subject of controlling my tongue. I am amazed at how we can use our voices like a beautiful instrument singing praises to God and in the next breath utter an 'off-color' word at someone or something. The words we speak mean things. Use them in poetry or song and they become eloquent expressions that can instantly transform a person's mood. Use them carelessly in the 'heat of the moment' and they become weapons of mass distruction, causing great harm to friends, family or our very reputation.
Our words can get us into deep trouble with our Heavenly Father too. Solomon warned us not to rush into God’s presence with words. Over the years I have learned to bite my tongue. I still find myself in situations where I need to bite it even harder and really think before I launch a "WMD" and possibly hurt someone. In keeping with Prov 16:24 we need to realize that a spoon full of honey is more effective than a barrel full of vinegar!
