Brothas get yo'self together! (Part 1)
Okay so this week's meditation song will take you clean-in! If you like some sho nuff ol' school church choir and back in the day sanging (not singing) when singers used to rare (lean) back when they sang then you'll love this oldie-but-a-goodie I've pulled out for you! This is from the home of gospel, Chicago! So excuse my bias! LOL
Men, brothas, bruhs, boys, dude--whatever you refer to yourself and your group of guys you hang around, it is so time to get our stuff together!
Men we are the keys to many problems that need to be solved in the world and especially in the church.
Now women this isn't a shot at you or putting you down when I say this so understand where it's coming from. Brothas the women have had to take our place in the home; on the job; in the community and even in the church! Though I believe God has poured out equal anointing and power on the women of God; women are holding positions and doing things in the church that the men of God are supposed to be doing. I'm not talking about titles; but position. A women should not be in the position of having to do building maintenance especially for the church! They shouldn't be the ones having to deal with any unsafe task or duty pertaining to the church, the home or the community. Not that they are not capable of doing these things (because they've been doing it) but they should not be obligated to stand in the places God has ordained for you to stand in!
The problem is when women have to stand in the gap of the man, who stands in place of the women? Let me show you with different scenarios how this is a problem when you're out of your place man of God. You can't be a softy for what I'm about to address so hold on to your seats!
SPIRITUALLY: When men are out of their place in a spiritual sense, the enemy wins more battles than he is supposed to! That's why your home church isn't growing! That's why the pastor is getting burned out. That's why he/she has to beg for the offering, because you're out of your place! If you were where you were supposed to be in the Body, then the enemy would have less victory over our places of worship. That's why the witches and demonic spirits are IN OUR SANCTUARY because the gate keepers (i.e. men) are not in their places! You laying in bed watching the football game while service is going on! Tivo it!
COMMUNITY: 18 KIDS were killed on Chicago's streets last night. 12 the night before that. 14 the night before that. REALLY? Out of the 44 kids that were killed over the last few nights, 38 of them were males. The enemy is wiping out the next generation and you're sitting by and letting him do it! He's distracting you with sex, getting money, rap music and other foolery and killing your little brothers, sons, grandsons, cousins, nephews--you.
SEXUALLY: Oh yea I'm about to go there! You want to know why there are so many homosexuals in your church? Because men of God are out of their place (I'm about to preach this thang!)! Because you're not at the (spiritual) gate praying the enemy out; praising your way through and calling on God to cover--the enemy has come in and manipulated the relationships EVEN IN THE CHURCH! It's supposed to be God-->man-->women-->child. It's become Man-man; man-child; woman-child. You see how the line of succession is broken?
You know why there are so many single mothers raising your kids? You're out of place! You can't keep it in your pants so you seek out variety of women to drop seed into. The problem here is that you don't realize that you cease to be a man when you plant a seed that you don't cultivate! You become a tool! A garden tool--hoe.
You know that African American males carry the most STD's of any race? We're not even being smart enough to cover up our foolishness! We're putting it everywhere it can fit and will die before 40 because of it. WE HAVE THE CURE FOR AIDS!!!! STOP SCREWING EVERYBODY!
Men we are lying too much! Hurting God's gifts (women)to us. We're breaking too many hearts! We're creating too many children that we aren't parenting. And the one's we are parenting, we're part time. We're causing too many pains in the women of God. We're causing a rift in the relationships of God's people because we're not in our place! We've got to get this thing together!
Brotha, where's your goals? Where's your dreams? Where's your spirituality? How you gon' let your girl go to church by herself? What kind of man are you? GO GET GOD FOR YOURSELF!
How you gon' drop your family off to church? How your wife a minister and you're not even saved? How your wife a pastor and you barely come to church?
I've made enough mistakes and observed enough mistakes in my short time here on earth to know what I'm talking about. I too have hurt God's gifts. I too have lied. I too have done wrong. Don't let the titles, weekly words and ministry fool you! I have been in some messy situations myself. Even recently. Because I'm not perfect and I'm not JESUS! LOL But men we've got to get this thing together or we'll lose an entire generation to the enemy. I WON'T HAVE IT!
Men how do we get it together? The scripture above says that "if any man be in Christ, he is a NEW creature. Old things are passed away; behold ALL THINGS are become new." I love it. Can I break that scripture down before I let you go?
"IF-" Let's stop right there. The word "if" suggests that you have a choice. You've got to choose God. He won't force you. He won't badger (can we stop that in church? GEEEZ!!! That's another weekly word LOL) you into salvation. You've got to want this thing for yourself. I didn't say going to church. That's not salvation! That's....well that's going to church. But God allows you to choose him. Who wouldn't choose a mercedes over walking? Without Christ you're walking...barefoot....on glass....in the desert! With Christ you're riding the mercedes of life jack! LOL
"If any man be in Christ-" Note it didn't say if any man be in church. If you have Christ in you for real, the change will come automatically. Trust me.
"-he is a new creature." I like the fact that it says when you're in Christ you're new. It didn't say you become new. You're new! When you really have God he makes a new man out of you. Who wouldn't serve a God like that?
"Old things are passed away (watch this now) BEHOLD ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW." This is where we see BECOME. See this means you ain't got to be perfect from day one. Deliverance is an ongoing lifetime process. Because once you get delivered from one thing, you grow and then it's time for more deliverance. That's what salvation is--deliverance from the hand of the enemy!
Brothers here's the long-short of it-
Get saved. Get right. Take responsibility. Get in your place. Stop disrespecting, hurting and mistreating God's gift to us. Rap music should not be your guide.Take care of your kids. GO TO CHURCH! Lead in your community. Be a big brother to every male younger than you. Be an example. Don't you EVER put your hands on a woman (you're a complete loser if you do). PRAY! Seek the more of God. Learn to love without dysfunction. And finally; contrary to popular belief; the more women you have sex with, the less of a man you are.
