For I Resolve to Know NOTHING.
The Lord our God loves us so much! We will spend eternity trying to comprehend the vastness of his love. God never intends to bring afflictions into our lives. He loves us too much for that. He only walks us through our own afflictions that we bring upon ourselves.
Afflictions come when we are not standing on the word of god and his promises for us. The word is the rock – the word is Jesus himself. If we could devote every part of our life to the focus of his love for us then there is nothing that will shake us. Yes the storms and oppressions will come but they will be so small in comparison to the Love that god has for us.
Learning to focus on His love will only bring us more and more into the recognition of how great his love is. The bible says that his love for us stretches as far as from the east to the west. The east will never be able to reach the west! It is limitless. We too often try to understand or put a measurement on his love and grace for us. This will NEVER happen. We will never be able to come to grips of or be able to tag it with a measurement. Measurements and numbers are for this world that we live in. Things of the Kingdom can never be associated with things of this world. We have no way of placing products of the Kingdom into measurements of this world. If we try it is for our own comfort – for our own understanding.
By placing a measurement on things eternal we are only trying to satisfy human comprehension. Since when did it become about us and our satisfaction? We were made not for ourselves but for Him and his Glory – It’s about him, NOT us!! HA! God needs our love, this is the reason we were made, this is our true purpose. Stop trying to understand what God is doing. The word says that God is a just God, if this is true then what are we to worry about? If God’s interested in our wellbeing and wants to give us ALL things if we just believe. Then why do we question his word? In a way questioning the word can be looked at as if you doubt what was said. Do you ever think that sometimes we are not supposed to know? Why are we so infatuated with knowing everything. If you truly trust in Him then there is no need to know anything. God is ALL knowing. Why must we know? Are we trying to be God?
Mankind will always try to understand, analyze, and figure out. It’s just part of our human nature. But it is when we come to the point of NOT knowing is where there is peace. There is only one thing that is to be known and that is Jesus died on the cross for you weather you like it or not! You have no choice – there is nothing you can do to keep His love from you. Focus on that and everything else will be added unto you!
