Being intentional, setting goals, and prioritizing them

Prepare your work outside; get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house.

~~~~ I have been teaching this Proverb to my son, and teaching with it that before he is even serious about dating, or moving out on his own... He needs to have everything ready. I tell him to prepare the work outside (going to school, then onward to college) get everything ready for yourself in the field (establish your grounding, and your future with a career that you want, are happy with, and could see yourself there for 5-10 years) and after that build your house (after you are established, then look at filling your home with a wife and kids)
How wonderful would it be if everything was already established, if children were taught not to go quickly into marriage and find them in debt quickly, but slowly and intentionally saving for their future! The verse talks about being intentional with each area of your life, setting goals, and prioritizing them. God wants the best for us HIS children, and we want the best for our children. If we teach them what HE has to say, and show them what HE has to say; if they followed HIS advice, they will have success in their lives!
It is amazing how much God loves us, to share with us HIS wisdom, yet we are all so stubborn and do things our own way... HIS way is always better, now if my children can learn this in their life early...
