What Has Proccupied You?

1. Many Things (see verse 4b-6)

A. Paul had many things going for him.

"Paul scored a hundred according to Judaism." A.T. Robertson

B. We live in a generation that is preoccupied with everything.

"How can I know that I'm preoccupied!"

Look at your fellowship with Christ.

"Ten Signs Your Christain Faith Has Become An App." (By Brain Dodd)
1. Gods oppinion on the issues of your life is not the Primary decision point for you.
2. You have become relationally distant from God.
3. Church Attendance = optional.
4. Prayer only happens in response to major difficulties.
5. You are part of the 97% of Christains who do not Tithe.
6. You can't remember the last time you read more than one chapter of the Bible a day.
7. It's been years since you shared your faith with someone.
8. Family devotions are a foreign concept.
9. Scripture memory does not take place.
10. You think you could do a better job Running Your Life than God can.

2. Nothing (verse 7-8)

A. Pauls conclusion of "Many things" was Nothing.

"Would your Ayer learn on something or someone other than the God ofthe universe? How wise is that?"

How was Paul able to come to this conclusion?

HE MADE AN "END OF LIFE ASSESSMENT" BEFORE THE END OF HIS LIFE!!!!!!!

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep HIS commandments, for this man's all. For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil."

Do you know what really drives that home? When we see our faults and failures either Affecting our children or our children making the same mistakes.

B. Is there anything or anyone worth more to you than Christ?

3. One Thing (verse 9-14)

A. To get to "One Thing" is a difficult journey.

Even though sin has marred to us and marred this world; it has not removed the God - shaped void in each of us.

You will never be fully content and peaceful and joyful until you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

B. The "One Thing" is a personal Relationship with Christ, which begs some questions:

1. What? (Verse 9) As in, What did Jesus do?

Isaiah 64:6, " All of our righteousnesses are like filthy rags."
Romans 3:10, " There is none righteous, no not one."

What? He makes us Righteous!!!!!

2. Why? (verse 10-11). Why is Christ the One Thing?
a. His person! " That I may know him..."
b. His power! "and the power of His resurrection..."
c. His pressence! "and the fellowship of HIS sufferings, being conformed to HIS death..."

For Pauls One Thing, Became his Everything.

WHAT ABOUT YOU???
