Dependent or Die

As I read Isaiah 2 this morning, I was comforted by the loving hand of God. Over the past few weeks, writing began to feel laborious. It was quite a different experience than when I first started two months ago. It really just began to suck the life out of me rather than provide the necessary nourishment needed to sustain. I could feel it becoming more of a task to check off my “to do” list as opposed to outcome of a loving relationship between me and God. He interrupted the process and I began to understand I was beginning to worship this habit of contributing to the world of internet and not Him. It got so bad I stopped reading just because I didn’t have the life in me to write. I began to die in this form of worship because I began to lose my dependency on Him.

I love God so much, He brought me back and reminded me of who He is. You see in Isaiah 2, he get a vision of the coming judgment on God’s people because of their idolatry. There is a whole lot of symbolic imagery I don’t really understand. Yesterday, on Moody radio I heard one of the pastors talk about the Israelites restriction of in having chariots and horses when they went into battle. Reason being, this would put them in a position of weakness thus leaving them dependant on God. One of the verses acknowledges their accumulation of chariots and horses and how God rejects them because of it. They began providing for themselves so they no longer had a dependency on God thus He was displeased with their worship; this lead to horrific judgment from God. America, we need to repent of our sin of believing we are the source and earn what we work for. God is the owner of all our resources and we don’t honor Him as such. Judgment is coming. Repent and be dependent on Him or die.

God, yours is the earth and the heavens. You are the ruler and you sit on the thrown. Nothing we think or say or believe matters unless it is of your decree. America is in shameful sin and we need to repent. Lord, only you can do such a thing and you posses the power to change it. You cause the entire city of Nineveh to fall on their face and recognize their sin through a man who didn’t even what to say what you told Him to say. Lord, have mercy on us and reveal yourself to our leaders, pastors and politicians alike. Amen!
