Sensing God's Love

This passage, if studied carefully, can be a ministry of the Holy Spirit to the Child of God, who has come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

What if others close to you - such as a spouse, or children, or parents - reject your consistent life with the Lord?

1. Samuel knew the Lord so well, that his words always came to pass. The King James translation says that none of his words fell to the ground. (1 Samuel 3:19) In other words, he knew God like Moses did.

2. His heart, however, was deeply distraught over Israel's refusal to be content with God's Word through him. Their fears, and lack of trust, made them desire a false conclusion to the matter - a "king"!

After he had cleared the matter before them, to see if he had offended them in any way - he then warned them of the likely outcome. No resentment and no bitterness here - just genuine sorrow and concern.

Go to God, dear believer, knowing that the rejection of others does not mean that you have been rejected. Don't allow yourself to be offended by what God is doing through Jesus, even though it may not feel good to you right now.

He loves you, and will give you His word and a loving strategy during this time. Get your assurance directly from Him!

God's goal is for them to learn to treasure Him like you do. Remember Job 42:10.

Peace!
