Wow. I have never seen such a waste of power in my life. Christians now-a-days are like the biggest “power wasters” in the world. Yea I’m talking about you! Wit’ yo’ savededed self! It’s like we’re leaving all the lights on in the house and no one’s there; just wasting power.
You’ve got so much power inside of you; SO MUCH! No one had to lay hands on you for you to get some of what you got. No one had to summons it out of you. No one had to activate it inside of you. You were born with some power! You were put on earth with a bit of power and I know that from Genesis 1:26.
Okay so let me go ahead and explain my title. I guess if you know the above 3 scriptures then you kind of see where I’m going with this, but if you don’t then let me break this thing down for a second. “Monday’s mess turns into Sunday’s best….**SMH**.” First of all for those of you that don’t speak “text message” let me translate what “SMH” means; shaking my head, as in disgusted or ashamed. The prior words in the statement are what make me shake my head.
On Mondays we are a full blown, flat-out mess! We’re acting any old kind of way, treating people like they are worth nothing. We’re talking about folks, lying, cheating, stealing; or maybe you’re not even doing all that. Maybe you’re just not showing your full-blown power to the people in your life outside of your church. Hmmmm, is that you? Maybe folks on your job think you’re a “good person” but do they know why you’re good? Do they know what that “light” is inside of you?
One of the focuses of the ministry I’m building currently here in Chicago—New Vision Ministries International- A Shift-minded Church—will be the fact that we have to learn how to bridge the gap between who or what we are on Monday-Saturday, and what we are on Sunday. On Sunday we are the most saved and sanctified people in the church! Lord, but on Monday we’re a hot, lit on fire mess! Am I preaching already? IS! Is indeed!
We turn so many people off throughout the week, it’s a shame. If you could evangelize as many people as you turn off, all of our churches would be filled! Do you realize that the enemy focuses some people’s attention on you just to turn them off from God? You like to call them haters (we [me, God and the Holy Ghost] voted to ban that word from every sermon, song and testimony in the church from this day forth; Amen!) but what they really are is people who are DUI—duped under the influence. They are duped under the influence of the enemy. They are distracted by your lack of power you display in your everyday life. How would you live if you knew someone was watching you everyday and determined their walk by yours? Thus causing them to sink or swim based upon what you do or for that matter, don’t do.
Well I have a news flash for you today; people are watching you every single day of your life to see how you walk to determine theirs! Some of them don’t even know why they are watching you, but they are. I can prove it to you. You ever have somebody in high school that didn’t like you but didn’t even know you? Well? They were watching you and you didn’t even know it. People have assigned and affixed their attentions on you and you’re not even knowledgeable about it! Well…’til now.
One of the above scripture talks about you being double minded makes you unstable (James 1:8). Another talks about you being lukewarm and God spitting you out of his mouth (Revelation 3:16). The final scripture talks about you can’t serve 2 masters (Matthew 6:24). When you’re not being the way you should—powerfully walking in God’s appointed authority in your life—then you cheat the people around you out of the close encounter with God that they SHOULD have gotten from you. You’re someone’s burning bush! You’re someone’s Bible! You’re someone’s link to God and you’re so foolish that you don’t even show them your ministry; you show them your MESS!
I want to make this last point then I’m done. I’m not talking about you walking around saying, “Praise the Lord” all the time or toting your big huge Altar-table-Bible! I’m talking about people should so see the power of God in your life that while you’re sitting on the bus stop, folks just stop and ask you are you a Christian. I’m talking about God’s power proliferates off of you so much that people look over at your car from theirs because the glory caught their eye! My God today! YES! You are a light in dark places; why don’t you shine?
Don’t be religious (you know the Sadducees and the Pharisees were religious right?), have a relationship. You don’t have to be “extra” and “deep.” Just be deeply rooted in God. Be saved for- real for-real. Deal with life like a Christian, instead of a worldly person. Show God’s love to all of God’s creatures; they deserve it. They were made by the same hands as you….even and especially your “haters!”
We must stop being “Sunday’s best” and start representing God every day and on every front. We’ve got to stop being part time Christians and start being full time Christians with benefits! The position is open, will you fill it?
