Wearing shorts in the winter; why? Seasons change!

Okay so I’m a few weeks late right? Or am I right on time? Spring officially began on March 20 in the USA. We in Chicago know that to be a falsehood as we do not have a spring! We have two seasons in Chicago; Winter and construction! LOL Okay as I’m sure you know, I’m not talking about the seasons of winter, spring, summer and fall. I’m talking about the season of change that is upon us. So I’m not too late.
Sometimes it seems like we’re in a wintery season for so long. It seems like we’ve been wearing boots, coats and hats for ages! I would take a stab at it and say that you feel like that in the current season of your life. Maybe everything is great for you, and I’m not talking to you, but for the rest of us, it has been a hard season. We sometimes like to think that every December 31st brings a new season in our lives but for some reason it doesn’t.
It seems like every time it’s getting better, it only gets worse. It seems that the minute you get the opportunity to go two steps ahead, you get pushed 8 steps behind. You’re not progressing, you’re digressing. You’re not moving ahead, you’re falling behind. You’re not where you want to be and don’t seem to be getting there anytime soon. It’s been a constant struggle for years to finish that project. You can’t seem to open that business you dreamed of. Your ministry isn’t going anywhere! Your job is dead end; your bank account is slim and your patience is wearing thin.
You’re broke, broken, battered, tattered and torn. You’re frustrated, upset, pissed off and down right angry. You are tired; just tired. You can’t give up because what’s the alternative? This season has been too long, too hard and too much! You can’t cry to the church folks ‘cause their just gonna pray for you and give you some scripture. You can’t turn to your not-so-churched friends because they’re living a mess and what’s the point of the blind leading the blind? Your family is the cause of some of the seasonal battles so you can’t turn to them heck you want to turn away from them! LOL Your daily theme is “enough is enough” and “when is my season going to change?”
This word isn’t for everybody but I believe there’s a shift in progress for your life. I believe there is a seasonal change about to come into the lives of you for whom I’ve tapped into your spirit. You may be in tears right now; well this word’s for you. You may be feeling that feeling right now in the pit of your stomach. It’s almost a sick feeling. You’re asking yourself, “How does this brother know what I’m feeling right now? I ain’t told him nothing!” I’m talking directly to you. You’re on a 3 way call right now from heaven. I’m on one in, Christ on the other and you. He told me to tell you that it’s about to change. It’s about to turn around. Don’t be on the edge of a breakthrough and turn back around. I know you can’t see it but that’s why WE WALK BY FAITH and not by sight!
What you can’t see is the closed door, backroom discussions going on between Christ, the angels and the Holy Spirit. They’re meeting right now and they’re taking role call. “Christ?” He replies, “Present.”
“ Guardian Angels? Are you here?”
“We’re present.”
“Holy Spirit are you in the room tonight?”
“I’m here as well.”
“Faith? ……….Hello? Faith? Has anyone seen Keisha’s faith? John’s? Chante’s? Where is your faith?”
Have you allowed your situation to lower your level of faith? It’s time to get it back! This word is for you! Your season is changing! “Your situation is working out,” this week’s song says. You better believe it today! God is shifting, changing, turning and revamping your situation right now so it’s time you do your part and get your faith back in line!
Faith is when “they” say you can’t; you believe that you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you! Faith is not knowing how you’re going to pay for school but you applied anyway. Faith is not having the money for he business but you’re writing the business plan. Faith is not having the security deposit but you’re packing. Faith is the substance of things that you hope for! It is the evidence of the things you can not see! “What does that mean preacher?” I’m glad you asked! That means that you faith can stand on its own! You don’t need scientific evidence. You don’t need to see it before you believe it . All you know is it’s on the way and I’m waiting on it! I’m working on it.
You must declare in your winter season that it’s time to break out the shorts! What do I mean by that? I mean that even while your situation looks bleak and discouraging, you’ve got to know that God didn’t bring you this far to leave you! You’ve got to speak the words, “This season is coming to an end! I’m bringing it to a close! I won’t stand for the rains anymore! I won’t stand for the storms!” You’ve got to stop telling your God how big your problem is and start telling your problem how BIG your GOD is!
Noah built an arch on dry land because he had faith that the season was about to change. Moses spoke to a 400 year bondage because he believed the season was changing! Jesus got on a cross at a place called Calvary on Golgotha hill and changed the very season of the sinner! I come to tell you today that your season is changing!
So let them laugh. Let the haters hate. Let the liars lie. But as for me and my season, IT’S CHANGING!
