Three words

Psalm 42 expresses the very pits of a heart breaking under the pressure earthly trails and taunting enemies. These taunters set you up to fail. They are passive-aggressive using manipulations and games. There are times when they appear to be so successful. It can be very discouraging.

"6 Oh my God, Now I am deeply discouraged, but I will remember you— even from distant Mount Hermon, the source of the Jordan, from the land of Mount Mizar.
7 I hear the tumult of the raging seas as your waves and surging tides sweep over me.
8 But each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing his songs, praying to God who gives me life."

See - God is not fooled, not even for a second. God makes up who we are — whether we choose to accept Him, or not — we need Him. Here, the psalmist (perhaps David) cries in verse 6: "Oh my God" for God is the only Person we can truly cry out to when our enemies taunt us or earthly foundations shatter and crumble. As believers, we cry out these three words acknowledging our total dependence and faith in reverence to Him. Unbelievers use a three-letter acronym to text their disbelief or surprise, or speak it as for the same purpose... but it is in vain, for the unbelievers know not to Whom they are speaking of - so very sadly.

Dear Friend, maybe today is a very hard place for you for your enemies taunt you, and the words, "Oh my God", is your heartfelt prayer. Pray for them - your enemies. As hard as it is, (and it is for me), we glorify God and that gives way to His peace and security reigning in our souls. Pray that God will turn our enemies taunts to belief in Jesus Christ. Pray that God will give you and I the mercy and grace to love our enemies. And remember God protects us. God loves us. He is our God.
