Get out of the boat

Peter, to me, is one of the most interesting men in the Bible. There are so many sides to this man but one side of Peter that inspires me the most is the one in this verse; a man of faith.
So many of us are quick to reference his doubt that caused him to sink when trying to walk on water; but I see the faith of a man who chose to defy all physical laws by stepping out onto the unknown.
I personally have seen the vastness of the ocean. I've seen the blackness of the deep and have heard the violent waves crashing into each other. I know the mighty power that the waters have to consume a person in one gulp and carry them off into the unknown. It had to be some amazing faith for Peter to push the fears aside and step out onto the utter darkness of the raging sea to a man called the Son of God.
Sometimes life feels like the open sea with the raging waters and violent waves. One wrong move and you are sucked into the depths of darkness. But in the midst of our sea of life is the Son of God beckoning us to get out of our comfort zone and meet him in the midst of the unknown. Don't let your fears and doubts become mightier than Christ. Defy all odds and get out and walk to Him. He is faithful; he will not let us drown.
