Classic servanthood example of mothers
It is humorous and telling how Simon's mother-in-law reacts. She is on her death bed with a fever and Jesus heals her and she immediately gets up and "waits on them". She is probably offering them food and getting more chairs for everyone to sit on. She might be ordering her children or grandchildren to assist in delivering food and drink to Jesus and her guests. She is tidying up the house while thanking Jesus for helping her get back to work - loving others by serving them. Maybe she is cut from the same cloth as Martha.
