28 Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control. Proverbs 25:28 TNIV
The picture here is a city with no form of protection, a city that looks un-taken care of and a city that anyone can enter. This is what I can look like when I choose not to have self control. If let myself get carried away with the pleasures of this life it’s as if I am no longer protecting my faith, my body and my standards. If I let myself get carried away in the pleasures of this life it will only be a matter of time before anyone who looks at me will be able to tell that I have not been taking care of myself, I’ll have wounds, scares and holes. If I let myself get carried away in this life I will leave myself open for anyone to enter in and do even more damage.
What an eye opening reminder about what happens to me and anyone who lacks self-control for themselves.
God, thank you for reminding me today through Your Word that self-control is so important. Please give me the strength and knowledge through Your Word and as I read it daily.
