Sound Financial Advice

Many folks live payday to payday they do not take command of their finances. I know, I was one of these people. I would breathe a sigh of relief when I came home after work and found the lights still on.

There are a some good points in Proverbs 6:6-11

1. We are to take command of our finances. No one else is going to balance our budget for us. It is up to each one of us to take ownership of our finances.

2. We must save, we must have a nest egg for when times get hard. The recession has impacted millions of people. Many were not prepared at all for it. This can even impact churches. Reduced tithing from members during a recession can cause major budget gaps. Having savings can bridge that gap. Do not overextend yourself.

3. If we ignore our finances we will eventually get stung. If we don't save, we can get impacted by emergencies or a job loss. Digging out of poverty is more difficult than saving a little while we have money.
