You give me the words to pray.

" ...asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. "

As a parent of three boys, I am constantly praying for their lives, for growth in the love of the Lord to be evident in their lives. I pray for them to one day grow and become loving men who look to God for counsel. I desire them to become wonderful loving husbands, (and bring me home daughters), to be strong caring daddies, and to be influencers of the Gospel, not becoming influenced by the world. Yet, it is tough when I see them fight, and I get discouraged when they make wrong choices. Yet, I am also so very thankful for the wrong choices they make when I truly see them learn from them. I thank my Lord, that he continually guides them, teaches them, loves them and forgives them just as he does with me. As, I was reading this morning I came across this verse in Colossians. Paul felt a need to pray for the people of Colossae. He prayed without ceasing for them. This is just a perfect prayer to pray for my children, my husband, my dear friends and new believers I meet. Pray without ceasing asking that they may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.
Lord, my Savior I thank you for giving me the words to pray for my children. Forgive me for my struggles in my thoughts. Help me to hand them over to you, and let you work in their lives. You know my desire for them, and for their children. Yet, Lord even as they are still young, I pray for them continually. Help me my Father, raise them knowing you and your love for them. I praise you for your gifts to me, these three precious gifts. I pray for each of them to love, honor and know you Lord. In your powerful, glorious name, I present these three boys before you.
